Vedapatti (TP), Dhaliyur (TP), Thondamuthur (TP), Alanthurai (TP), Puluvapatti (TP), Thenkarai (TP), Perur (TP) and Kuniyamuthur (TP). Coimbatore (M.Corp.) Ward Nos. 48 to 56.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 386 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thondamuthur is: 10°58'00.8"N 76°44'45.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 70.22%, while it was 66.99% in 2016, and 75.17% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S P Velumani of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Karthikeya of DMK by a margin of 41630 votes which was 18.19% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Velumani,S.P. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Kovai Syed @ Syed Mohammed,M.A. of MAMAK by a margin of 64041 votes which was 32.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Velumani S P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Kandaswamy M N of INC by a margin of 53203 votes which was 33.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S P Velumani of AIADMK had a vote share of 54.27% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Velumani,S.P. of AIADMK got a vote share of 55.01% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Velumani S P of AIADMK got a vote share of 62.4% in Thondamuthur.
