    Valparai Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Coimbatore district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Valparai Taluk Pollachi Taluk (Part) Naickenpalayam, Ambarampalayam, Athupollachi, Marchinaickenpalayam, Singanallur, Vekkampalayam, Pethanaickanur, S. Nallur, Pillchinnampalayam, Somandurai, Thensithur, Periapodu, Kaliyapuram, Thensangampalayam, Kariyanchettipalayam, Kambalapatti, Arthanaripalayam, Jallipatti, Thorayur and Angalakurichi villages. Anaimalai (TP), Odaiyakulam (TP), Vettaikaranpudur (TP) and Kottur (TP).

    This constituency covers an approximate area of 1092 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Valparai is: 10°21'42.1"N 76°57'06.5"E.

    In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Amulkandasami T K of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Arumugam M of CPI by a margin of 12223 votes which was 8.5% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kasthuri Vasu, V. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Paulpandi, T. of DMK by a margin of 8244 votes which was 5.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Arumugham M of CPI won this seat defeating Kovaithangam of INC by a margin of 3421 votes which was 2.75% of the total votes polled for the seat.
