    In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Ambethkumar S of DMK won in this constituency beating Murali S of PMK by a margin of 35953 votes which was 19.52% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ambethkumar, S of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Meganathan, V of AIADMK by a margin of 18068 votes which was 9.96% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Gunaseelan.V of AIADMK won this seat defeating Kamalakkannan.J of DMK by a margin of 12296 votes which was 7.57% of the total votes polled for the seat.
