    In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Praveen Kumar Nishad of BJP won in this seat defeating Bheeshma Shankar of BSP by a margin of 35,749 votes which was 3.36% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 43.95% in 2019 in this seat.

    In 2014, Sharad Tripathi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Bhism Shankar Alias Kushal Tiwari of BSP by a margin of 97,978 votes which was 9.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 34.49% in the seat.
